Deerton Natural Burial Ground, is privately owned, and is situated between Faversham and Sittingbourne, in Kent - the Garden of England. It is managed on ecologically sound lines so providing an informal, nature-rich environment for peaceful reflection on our own lives and those of the loved ones who rest there.

Great care is taken to protect the existing environment as well as gradually enhancing it by careful management. The planting of local, native trees and wildflowers is taking place.

Environmental damage is avoided by the use of eco-friendly and bio-degradable coffins; eco-friendly caskets are used for ashes. Embalmed remains are discouraged. People of all beliefs and faiths are welcome.

To preserve the natural surroundings we do not permit headstones or other permanent grave-side memorials.

The precise location of each burial is carefully plotted and recorded using a system of trig-points across the site. When no more plots are available the burial ground will be cared for by a trust as a nature reserve for perpetuity.

Visitors are welcome and a pedestrian gate will be open. We welcome children too under the strict supervision of an appropriate adult, so too dogs but they must be kept on a lead.
